Behavioral Intervention assists children with developmental disabilities and maladaptive behaviors to develop and improve their living skills, functional skills, communication skills and adaptive and coping skills so they can become more self-reliant and integrated into family life and the community. 

Behavioral Intervention services assist children to increase their skills through positive reinforcement, role playing, modeling, naturalistic intervention, response interruption/redirection, prompting, and time delay. Behavioral Intervention services are outcome-based therapeutic services delivered by a professional. Intervention Specialists are individuals who have a bachelor’s degree in a human service field, at least one year of experience working with the developmental disability population, and other criteria required by the Department of Health and Welfare.
