President, Ambitions of Idaho
Shane Hagel has been making a difference since 1995. Shane  has worked his way from Direct Support Staff to House Manager, to Program Manager, to Administrator of Idaho and finally to President of Ambitions of Idaho. Shane has worked with the individuals every step of the way and knows what it takes to provide quality services. Shane has attracted and retained an amazing team of professionals dedicated to the individual’s success. Shane has led Ambitions of Idaho to be one of the largest providers of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Service providers in Idaho. He has accomplished this by championing innovative changes and policies that are in the best interest of the individuals Ambitions serves. Shane is a very active member of The Idaho Association of Community Providers (IACP), serving on Legislative Committee.  He has taken an active role with the mission of furthering the quality and access of community based disability services. Shane’s education includes a Bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University, Is a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), and was a Certified Special Needs Advisor (CSNA) to families with children of special needs.  Shane is married and has 6 children and  two dogs.  He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, watching his boys participate in athletic events and exploring the outdoors.

Regional Assistant for HR
Kathy is our Regional Assistant for our Human Resource Department.  She maintains all our employee files and staff trainings as well as assisting with Payroll and Hiring for the Residential Habilitation Department. Kathy has been providing customer care in various work environments for the past 15 years, and has been with us at Ambitions of Idaho for over 3 years.  Kathy enjoys her job and interacting with our diverse clientele.  She currently oversees employee files in the Treasure Valley areas as well as Twin Falls and Coeur d’ Alene.

Program Supervisor
Shane is the Program Supervisor of our Treasure Valley Residential Habilitation Program. He was promoted to Program Supervisor after spending the previous 10 months as a Program Manager with Ambitions of Idaho. Shane has many years of experience working with the developmentally disabled population. He has held the positions of Developmental Tech, Developmental Specialist, ICF/ID Administrator, Targeted Service Coordinator, Program Manager, and Program Supervisor of two different Residential Habilitation Companies. He holds a B.S. in Applied Psychology and a M.S. in Sports Management. Shane has multiple years of experience coaching collegiate softball and baseball teams at St. Cloud State in Minnesota and TVCC in Ontario, OR. Shane and his wife Kathy reside in Meridian, ID.
Amanda Simpson

Nampa Program Supervisor
Amanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Boise State University in 2009 where she played Women’s Basketball. She was born and raised in Marsing, Idaho and has worked in the mental health and developmental disability profession for the last 8 years. Amanda has been a Program Manager for 3 years and is a certified Habilitation Interventionist and Clinical Supervisor who started the DDA program for Ambitions of Idaho prior to/during the merger of Community Outreach Counseling and Ambitions of Idaho. She returned to her passion of Residential Habilitation after the merger in April of 2017. Amanda is married with 3 children, she has two girls and one boy. She spends her down time doing DIY projects at home and watching and supporting her oldest daughter play sports.  Amanda loves Corgi’s and recently became the proud dog mom of a cowboy Corgi named Roxy to add some entertainment for her lab, Puddles
Kayla Martinez

Kayla Martinez

Program Manager
Kayla was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho and got her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2009. Kayla started out as a direct care staff working with adults that have developmental disabilities, then she began doing PSR/CBRS helping clients that struggle with mental illness. She eventually began working as a Program Manager/QIDP in 2013 because her passion is working with developmentally disabled adults. Kayla started with Ambitions of Idaho in April of 2017 and has enjoyed working for such a great company. In her spare time, she likes running, cooking, reading, and spending time with her boyfriend and her adopted terrier mix, Zoey.

William “Bud” Knutson

William “Bud” Knutson

Ambitions Employee Trainer

William Knutson, otherwise known as Bud, has been with Ambitions of Idaho for over 16 years but has been in the industry for over 35 years. Originally Bud started as a Direct Support Professional with Ambitions in 2002, was then promoted to House Manager and is now our full time Trainer.   Bud works with the Residential Habilitation Program where he is responsible for the orientation and onboarding activities of all new Direct Support Professionals as well as ongoing recertification trainings including CPR and CPI.  Bud has 2 adult children that reside in the Treasure Valley; weekends you will find Bud along with his children and his faithful companion Harley (Shih Tzu) at car shows and various motorcycle events, as well as the shooting range.
